Hump Day Happy Hour Featuring Block 122

Bonjourno Amici.  We have almost made it through the week.  Thanks for all the great feedback on my  last post featuring my favorite places to go in Sonoma.  It got me thinking though, all of you BFFFFL's are all over the country and beyond and some of y'all want to get in on some of that specialwinethatdoesn'tcomeinaboxfrom7-11 action but can't necessarily make it to NorCal.  Well, I have your answer!  That answer my friends is Block 122.  I know y'all are all: "Angie, WTH is Block 122?"  Well, it's only the best idea ever.  Have you ever stood in your wine aisle and thought to yourself, "where do I even start with this stuff?" and then you end up with that shittacular Barefoot wine and a raging headache the next morning.  Well, life doesn't need to be like that anymore.  How would you like someone who knows what they are talking about to help you carefully curate a wonderful selection of vino for you to enjoy at home?  That is where Block 122 comes in to play.

So what exactly is Block122? I'll let them tell you:  "Block 122 is a unique virtual wine store that takes the risk out of trying new wines. Our motto is: No Snobbery. No Robbery. We’ll share down-to-earth, industry expert reviews and in-depth articles on every wine we sell, and much more. Even better, we can offer direct access to some of the best and most highly allocated wines on the West Coast, at lower prices than can be found on the Web or in most wine shops. We truly believe that it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to drink fantastic wine. What’s more, at Block122, we know that a love of wine doesn’t start and end with a sale. Our mission is to encourage a vibrant social conversation about wine and the living craft that is winemaking. So even if you’re not looking to buy wine, stop by Block122 to find stimulating articles, photos and videos featuring some of the top sommeliers, winemakers and wine writers in the business. Think of Block122 as your place on the Web to find real info and useful tools for wine education, whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a seasoned pro."

Sounds like a gift straight from heaven, huh?  So, here is the deal.  They are in a Beta phase currently, so you will want to get behind the velvet ropes before everyone else.  So, sign up for their amazing services here, so you can be one of the first to order their amazing wines and get some fantasmic gifts.  Wine brought to your door and you get to have fun along the way.  Nothing sounds better!  If you have any questions, you can hit them up directly on Twitter or Facebook.

Go make friends.

Come Away With Me

It's no secret that San Francisco Summers get to me in a big way.  I mean, how would you feel if you grew up in Flori-duh and then found yourself in a place where it's 52 degrees and foggy for 90 days straight in the middle of the one time of year when your Sparklegemawesomeness is supposed to shine the brightest?  Well, I will tell you how you would feel...You get the sadmadblahs and you can't get out of it...That is until you convince your best friend to come and exercise your wine club memberships with you in Sonoma.  I aint' nevertoldalie when I say, that Sonoma and wine country in general is my happy place.  I mean lets be honest, anywhere that it is totally acceptable to drink sparkles at 11 am in the sun on a Sunday is high on the list of fully enjoyable THYMWYA approved places on the planet.  Sonoma always has the ability that no matter what is going on with my cancerian mood, it will bring Fun Angie out to play.  Here are some snaps from our day trip.

If ever in wine country, I highly recommend beginning your day at Domaine Carneros for a bubbles tasting.  It is deadcereal the best way to get things started.

Scribe Winery is one of those places you go and think to yourself: "I want to own a place like this one day".  Their tastings are done outside accompanied by tasting bites and wonderful conversation with their employees.  It's hard to not fall in love with everything going on here...Also, if you are a member of their wine club, you can have at their garden...Needless to say we now have a 3 foot long cucumber in our house...Don't ask.

Oh, VJB Cellars....my love for this place is beyond words.  The Mister and I have a major affinity for this winery.  They just opened their new facility which boasts a beautiful tasting room, pizza oven, gelato bar, and pallazzo. The people here are like family to us, and don't even get me started on the vino.  I dream about their Dante and Primitivo.

In case you have ever wondered what it is like to go wine tasting with me, now you know.

Salud.

Beautiful Nightmare

Happy Thursday, friends.  Are you all having a fandamnedtastic week?  I certainly hope so.  I really can't believe that it's already almost the freakin weekend.  The weather is finally getting better here in SF and I don't hate everyone and everything so much.  However, I am beginning to think about breaking up with SF because the sheer level of idiocy and lack of decorum from it's inhabitants are enough to make me climb the walls.

You see...When I first started this blog, I was walking everywhere.  5 miles per day, traversing the godforsaken hills of this city.  However, I believe that walking through San Francisco makes one not be able to actually loathe it...Because you are actually part of it.  If that makes sense...

However, that's where that ends.  These days I don't get to walk anymore and have to end up taking the train to work.  I am not complaining about my new commute, because it's really cake, but now I get to be shoved in a sardine can with a bunch of effingaholes for 45 minutes.  Here is what I saw two days ago:

DEADCEREAL clipping her raunchass nails on the train at 8:30 in the morning.

So, it seems that I am not the only person who is completely appalled by this behavior on Bay Area mass transit because there is now a Facebook page called BART Idiot Hall of Fame.  You will find such gems as the following:

So, go check it out and next time you are sitting in your car driving home from work, singing Britney at the top of your lungs, send up a prayer that I don't freak out on the train at someone who is drunk and playing their ukelele with two strings and screaming because they are coming down from a bad trip.

Walk This Way

Hello friends. I hope you all had an absolutelyfabulous weekend. I have to say, I'm exhausted, but walking in sunshine nonetheless. You see, I threw a bridal shower for my dear friend Adiel yesterday. We all had so much fun, but today I'm feeling lazy for it.

The great news is, I wasn't feeling lazy when I came up with this outfit. After staring at my closet full of clothes with nothing to wear, I watched Sex And The City. I remembered that I had a great dress that my mom bought me a few years ago and my studded Zara belt... Perfect elements to channel my style icon, Carrie Bradshaw.

Wearing: Dress: Forever 21 (Really old).  Shoes: Zara.  Belt: Zara.  Bag: Jessica McClintock. Blazer: Mystic

Thank God for re-runs/syndication.

Hi sugarboogers.  I hope y'all are all having a fandamnedtastic week.  I am happy to report that my sparklegemawesomeness is on it's way back.  I feel it.  And when I have my sparklegemawesomeness back, that means my funny isn't far behind.  Thank everything goodandbritney for that.  In other news... Today was my first day at my new job.  Thankfully, it's located in the one neighborhood in SF that isn't constantly socked in with fog, and after not seeing the sun for nearly 2 weeks, when I came out of the subway this is what happened:

Other than that, here is what has been going on in my life, according to my Instagram account:

Clockwise:1: I threw Adiel a bridal shower.  It was amazing.  2: I bought my first pair of brogues.  3: A little encouragement from The Mister's mom.  4: Things found in my home...Bubb and his bubb friends

Clockwise L-R: 1: a beautiful mural in my hood.  2: Succulent.  3: One helluva glass of vino.  4: Opening Ceremony with my BFFLRoomie.  She even gifted me some sparkle Toms. 2 pairs of flats in a week, WTEFFFF is going on with me?

Clockwise L-R:  Adiel rescued me and brought me to The South Bay so that I could see some sun.  2: That's a bride.  3: Brunch in the sun.  4: Game Day ready. #blackandorange

Clockwise L-R: 1: That much orange can only mean one thing, GAME DAY!  2: Mexican Handstand. 3: Oh...Hi.  From me and The Mister. 4: My booboo Dana

I love my life.
