Blurred Lines

Hey y'all.  Summer is in full swing, which means we are getting our foggy chilly days in San Francisco.  One thing I constantly struggle with this time of year is trying to still look seasonably appropriate while trying to stay warm.  I stocked up on a couple of new leather jackets recently, and find myself not leaving the house without them.  I also have been on a shoe binge and recently snagged these leopard flats.  I have worn them so much lately because they are really comfortable, and go with absolutely everything.  I have also decided that animal print is my new neutral.

Wearing: Skirt: Red Stripes Boutique.  Shoes, Tank, and Jacket: Zara.  Jewelry: H&M.

Another go-to for me during neversummer is maxi dresses and skirts.  I like that I can still wear a skirt while keeping my legs fairly warm.  Oh, and the black and white stripes in this skirt?  I mean, come on, you already know I am all over it.  What's even makes it even better, is that it is totally flattering, while still being incredibly comfortable.

Oh, and Romeo and I are totally in love...Just thought I'd let you know.

 Besos on your face.

Red Stripes Boutique: Summer Essentials Party

Hello pretty.  I hope you are having  a great week.  I am so excited to share some fun news with you all today.  A couple of my favorite SF Bay Area boutiques - Red Stripes Mobile Boutique and Classic Loot are teaming up with myself and a couple of other local style bloggers to launch their Summer Essentials line.  Come join myself, AdielSarah, and  Christine at Los Gatos Bar & Grill from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, this Saturday, June 22nd and have a sip and shop the new line.

Here are a few of the items from Red Stripes, that  I will definitely be bringing home with me.  You can preview the collection here.  They always do such a good job, but this seasons collection is really proving to be so good, I will have a hard time not bringing home one of everything.

I hope to see y'all there.

XO.

Back Alley Dealing

Welcome to THYMWYA, brought to you by my bitchface.  I have reunited with my former photographer, collaborator, and inspiration, The Frenchman.  He has helped me to reset, rethink, and reinvigorate where I want to be with this creative space.
Wearing: Dress, Leather Jacket, and Wedges: Zara.  Vest: Levi's.  Bag: Blue Vanilla.  Necklace: Stella & Dot.  Glasses: Marc Jacobs.

The thing is, he won't let me look goofy and smile on camera.  He says: "No girl.  No smiling.  It's about the clothes and your style.  OK? OK."  When he tells me what to do, I listen...Because who really wants to argue with an impeccably dressed Frenchman about what looks good on a woman and what people want to see?  A fool, that is who.

So, though you may not see me cheesing on here much anymore, rest assured I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been in my life.  I am blessed to be surrounded by some incredibly amazing human beings who make my heart happy and my life enriched and have inspired me to be the best version of myself.  I hope you enjoy the new style of photos I will be featuring on here.  Most of all, thank you all for your continued love and support.

Throwing Shade.

I'm Crafty

Happy Monday, friends.  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.  I was able to take Friday to myself and decided that I would be incredibly productive and work on some home improvement items.  I have to admit, I think most of you would be floored if you knew how absolutely small my bedroom closet is.  It is truly bursting at the seams.  One of my pain points has been the sheer amount of shoes that I have and not necessarily having the space in which to properly store them.  Here is where the following photo comes into play.

My new wall mounted shoe storage,  which holds 40 pairs of shoes.  I will regret this once the next earthquake hits.
You see, I saw something on Pinterest forever ago that showed crown molding mounted on a wall to hold shoes.  After having multiple pieces of crap over-the-door shoe holders that continued to break, I decided that it was finally time to do this project, because this is what the bottom of my closet looked like:

#dafuq
So, I dragged my roommate to Home Depot to buy crown moulding, gold spray paint, and finishing nails.  $50 and 15 minutes later I have turned the thorn in my side into something artful.  I can now appreciate my heels, instead of just hucking them into the bottom of my too too too small closet.  The one piece of advice that I have for anyone wanting to do this would be to take your highest heel to HD with you and making sure that the crown moulding is wide enough to hold your stripperest of heels.  Bonus info:  this is only good for heels, all of my wedges, boots, flats, and sneakers are all still on my closet floor, however a lot more organized than this.  Also, I  realized that I actually really like playing with spray paint, and may start moonlighting as a really bad graffiti artist.

June Gloom

It's that time of year...Ya' know, the time of year that I pull out my Winter coat because the fog rolls into SF and it gets really cold?  AKA: June Gloom. AKA: Perpetual Autumn.  AKA: Never Summer.  I have decided that this year, instead of getting the SADS, I am going to just embrace it and get out of the city as much as possible.

Wearing: Trench Coat: Victoria's Secret (old).  Sandals: Zara.  Bag: H&M

Luckily, I unearthed this coat that I bought years ago when I went and visited my old friends and co-workers at my old ad agency.  I went in to use their bathrooms, and I found my coat, right where I had left it three years prior, hanging on the coatrack behind my old desk.  I don't know what made me forget about this gem for so long, but I am so happy it was still there.  After getting it dry cleaned, to get the frat house smell out of it, I feel like it has a whole new life...Such as wearing it as a dress with some sandals.  Perfect San Francisco Summer attire, if you ask me.

Winter Is Coming.

From Desk Job to Date Night.

Hey chickadees. I hope that everyone is kicking ass and taking names.  As many of you have heard me preach, I will only buy items that I can imagine remixing into a completely different look.  If I can't wear it at least two different ways, I won't waste my money on it.  This skirt is a perfect example of this credo.  When I saw it in the early release images for Beyonce's line for H&M, I knew at the very least, I needed to go try it on.  Anyways, you know that I do anything Beyonce tells me to, so, obvi I bought it.  Following are two ways that I have styled it.  The first look is for the office and the second was for a late night dinner dinner date at Rich Table.  BTW, if you are in the Bay Area, make a reservation and go eat at Rich Table.  It is simply amazing.

Wearing: Skirt, Top, Blazer: H&M.  Heels: Zara.  Necklace: Stella & Dot.

Wearing: Skirt & Top: H&M.  Heels: Michael Kors.  Jacket: Zara.  Necklace: Marc Jacobs.

 Do it like Beyonce.

Beaucoup D' Amour

Good morning sugarbears.  Sorry I have been MIA lately, but I have ben traveling all over the place.  I went to visit my mom on the East Coast for Mother's Day (because I am a good daughter like that), and went immediately to Phoenix for work.  I have been on the road for a week, and I have to admit that I am incredibly homesick for my City By The Bay.  Luckily I get to go home tonight and sleep in my bed.  Does that happen to you when you travel?  Do you miss your bed?  It's always great to visit other places, but it always solidifies that San Francisco is truly home to me now.

Wearing: Shorts, Tee, & Purse: H&M.  Shoes: Tobi.  Sunnies: Marc Jacobs.

One of the best things about coming to Phoenix on work is that I usually get to hang out with my girl Amy from Amy's Vintage Closet.  This time, we were able to do a poolside happy hour and then snap some outfit shots.  Be prepared to see a lot of this T-shirt this Summer.  I really can't stop wearing it, and thinking of new outfits to wear it with.  And these scarf print shorts?  Well, I really don't know where to begin with my love for them.  I just wish that SF was warmer more often, so that I can wear the everlivingshit out of them.

A lot of love,

Angie
